ABOUT THE PTA:
- President
- Overseeing PTA Committees to keep calendar organized by working closely with Ms. Graham and the PTA Board.
- Running PTA Board and General Meetings.
- Appointing PTA Committee Chairs.
- Sign contracts and checks on behalf of PTA in coordination with Treasurer.
- Vice President, Programs
- Seek out and schedule student and family program vendors for throughout the year.
- Typical programs: Back to School event, Warrior Dash, Red Ribbon Week, STEM classes, End of Year.
- Assist with signing checks/ approving PTA expense reimbursements.
- Vice President, Fundraising

Solicits past and new PTA Sponsors to achieve annual goal of $10,000 by September.

Thanks and recognizes Sponsors throughout school year.

Supports Fall Fundraiser Chair and other fundraising activities.

Leads Spring Silent Auction (if necessary) to reach PTA fundraising goals.

- Vice President, Membership

Focus on signing up paid PTA members.
- Report monthly membership numbers and coordinate dues owed to local and state PTA with Treasurer.
- Apply for membership awards.

Coordinate Lifetime Award winners.
- Secretary
- Ensure all PTA Board Chairs become paid PTA members and complete onboarding training.
- Take detailed notes at every PTA Board and General Meeting and ensure meetings are approved thereafter.
- Assist President with Annual Report, Communications Chair with social media, and Historian with photo book.
- Treasurer
- Manage accounting for PTA income and expenses, including monthly reconciliations.
- Cut checks for PTA payments and expense reimbursements.
- Pay Sales Tax and submit annual Form 990 statements.
- Track budget to ensure all PTA Committees are in line with Plans of Work budgets.
- Parliamentarian
- Remain neutral at all PTA Board and General Meetings to ensure that Robert's Rules of Order are followed.
- Support PTA Board members with preparing motions, budget amendments and updating By-Laws and Standing Rules as needed.
- Council Delegate
- Attend FISD Council of PTAs Delegate Meetings every other month to learn about District news.
- Vote on behalf of Vaughn PTA at Delegate Meetings.
- Historian
- Help photograph and video PTA programs throughout the year to demonstrate the impact of PTA members in improving our student, staff and family experiences.
- Prepare an annual photo book at end of year to memorialize the PTA year.
- Community Partners Chair
- Arrange 3-5 spirit night events with local businesses to help foster a sense of community with Vaughn families while supporting local business and raising money for Vaughn PTA.
- Arts Chair

Manage PTA Reflections art program by coordinating logistics with Ms. Marino.
- Work closely with FISD Council of PTAs to receive, judge and submit art submissions for District level judging.
- Celebrate art on campus.
- Book Fair Chair
- Support Ms. Biamont with scheduling two annual Book Fairs with Scholastic.
- Coordinate decoration of Library during Book Fairs with Decor Committee.
- Setup and tear down books and registers for Book Fair.
- Ensure volunteers are staffing the registers.
- Carnival Chair
- Plan annual schoolwide Carnival for Spring, including vendors, activities, silent auction, decor and volunteers.
- Work closely with Decor, Book Fair, Fundraising and Volunteer Committees.
- Ensure ticket sales and silent auction help meet budget income goals.
- Communications Chair
- Tracks PTA calendar to ensure PTA members, students, Staff and families are aware of PTA activities and programs throughout the year.
- Manage Canva graphic design and social media (Facebook page, FB groups and Instagram).
- Support President with Membership Toolkit and Google Workspace setup.
- Decor Chair
- New role to support all PTA Committees with brainstorming themes for PTA programs, planning decor and organizing volunteers to executive decorations.
- Possible decor needs: back to school, 10th anniversary, fall fundraiser, red ribbon week, book fair, winter, carnival, end of year.
- Diversity Chair
- Focus on creating an environment of inclusivity for cultural awareness.
- Support Communications Chair with social media diversity posts.
- Plan and execute Culture & Arts Night in Spring.
- Environmental Chair
- Promote recycling, clean it and green it and campus/ street cleaning efforts throughout school year.
- Support Staff by supervising weekly student volunteers on Thursday mornings before school as they clear recycling from classrooms.
- Grants Chair
- Set and track budget for Staff supplies ordering at beginning of school year, and Teacher supplies ordering in January.
- Order supplies using PTA Amazon Prime account.
- Work closely with Vaughn Secretary, Ms. Boydston, to ensure supplies are delivered to staff.
- Raise awareness among Staff about scholarships or grant opportunities.
- Fall Fundraiser Chair
- Work closely with President, VP Fundraising and Ms. Graham to plan fall fundraiser.
- Recruit volunteers to assist with kickoff event, fundraising, and end of fundraiser celebration.
- Work with vendors if needed.
- Health Chair
- Lead planning and execution of two Walk/Roll to School days each fall and spring.
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices among students at PTA events.
- Hospitality Chair
- Lead planning for Staff Appreciation events throughout the year, including back to school treat and gift, curriculum night meal, open house meal, valentine's treat, winter sweet shoppe, Teacher Appreciation Week, fall fundraiser closing celebration, field day meal, and more.
- Lead volunteers to do monthly Stock the Pantry for Staff.
- Lead volunteers to provide monthly birthday treats for Staff.
- Track budget by working closely with Treasurer.
- Partners Chair
- Seek out and schedule monthly or bi-monthly Spirit Nights with Community Partner restaurants or shopping stores.
- Help raise funds for PTA and ensure Partners are appreciated.
- Room Parent Chair
- Work to get every student to pay Classroom Dues toward party expenses.
- Recruit volunteers from each classroom to serve as Room Parent(s).
- Supervise party planning and order supplies using PTA Amazon Prime account, and submit expense reimbursement requests to Treasurer.
- SAGE Chair

Raise awareness about special and gifted education among students, staff and families.
- Work closely with Communications Chairs to promote inclusivity and education about diverse abilities on social media.
- Arrange Calm Corners at PTA events for families.
- Invite guest speaker to teach students about diverse abilities and inclusivity.

- Spirit Chair
- Work with shirt vendor to pick Spirit Wear designs each school year and setup online stores for families to shop.
- Hold 1-2 online spirit stores during the year to reach fundraising goal.
- Help to distribute spirit wear to students.
- Volunteer Chair
- Coordinate all Sign Up Geniuses for PTA Committees.
- Reach out to local middle and high schools to recruit student volunteers for PTA programs.
- Support Staff with Vaughn parent volunteers as needed.
- WatchDOGS Chair
- Father figure who helps recruit other father figures as volunteers.
- Conduct orientation at beginning of the school year.
- Work closely with Ms. Tiel in Front Office to ensure that WatchDOGS are scheduled throughout the school year to assist Staff and students.

The PTA Board will keep you updated on opportunities to learn about the position through the end of the school year so that you feel prepared for next school year.
Newly elected Board members are asked to attend Frisco Council of PTAs trainings in May and/ or Texas PTA trainings in July. PTA will reimburse cost of trainings.
** Attendance at just 4 PTA meetings during school year is required.
